Privacy Policy

Sheepshead by DewWow is run by DewWow LLC in Mukwonago, Wisconsin ("we"). We keep this short: we collect what it takes to deal you in, and nothing to sell or to advertise to you.

What we collect

• When you play as a guest: a player name (we make one up, and you can change it), a random code that remembers you on your device (a cookie on the website, app storage in our apps), the hands you play and their scores, the chat messages you send, and when you were last online.
• When you create an account: your name and email address, and your password, which we store only in scrambled (hashed) form. Games you played as a guest on that device move into your account.
• When you report somebody: the report, the message or player it is about, and what we did about it.
• Server logs: like every website, our server records the internet address, the browser or app version, and the time of each request. We use them to keep the site secure and working, and keep them only for a limited time.

Games against the computer players in our apps happen on your device. Those games, your settings and your statistics against the computer stay on your device; we never receive them.

What we do not do

• We do not show ads, and we do not sell, rent or trade your information.
• We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we use no third-party analytics or advertising tools.
• We do not receive your payment details. The apps are bought through the app store, which handles payment.

How we use it

To run the games and the chat, to show your name and statistics to the people you play with, to keep the tables friendly (filtering chat, handling reports), to keep accounts secure, and to answer you when you write to us.

Who sees what

Other players see your player name, your avatar initials and color, your statistics, your seat and score at a table, and the chat messages you send. Your email address is never shown to other players. Our moderators can see reports and chat messages. We share information with nobody else, unless the law requires it.

How long we keep it

As long as your account or guest player exists. Chat messages that moderators hide stay in our records so we can handle reports.

Deleting your information

You can delete your account, and with it your name, email address, chat messages and blocks, at any time:

• In our apps: Settings, then Account, then Delete account. Guests can choose Forget me there.
• On the website: sign in, open My Account, then Security, then Delete account.
• By email: write to sheepshead@dewwow.com from the address on your account.

The hands you played stay in the other players' histories under the name "Former player", so their scores still add up.

Children

Sheepshead by DewWow is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Security

Everything between your device and our server is encrypted (HTTPS). Passwords are stored hashed.

Changes

If we change this policy we will post the new version here with a new date, and our apps will show it to you.
